A Brief History of Falmouth Football - 2005
Keith Greenwood had a vision. A vision that Falmouth, Maine would offer children from Youth Level through High School Level an opportunity to play football. There were many obstacles to overcome and it took many people and many hours of hard work for this football program to become one of the most successful in the area.
Falmouth Football has come a very long way. From its beginning of practicing on ice skating ponds at community parks, Cumberland Fairgrounds and backyards. Falmouth High School is now in its third year as a Class B Football Team.
The parents and players that are a part of the Falmouth Football Boosters are honored to be part of such a worthwhile organization. All too often, we do not hear of the good things that people do for one another; Football has been good for Falmouth. The friendships that have been made throughout our community and through this program will last a lifetime.
Our first high school coach told the parents and players: "We don′t measure our season based on wins and losses, but rather on what we have learned from the beginning to the end of our season". We are very proud of our players and coaching staff for continuing the Falmouth Football tradition of teaching our children the value of good sportsmanship, hard work and fun!
What a big difference 6 years and a lot of hard work can make. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people, businesses and football families for their continued support as we work to make this one of the most successful football programs in the area.
GO FALMOUTH FOOTBALL!!!!!
