Meeting Minutes

June 5, 2006

 

Present:  Zareh Derhargopian, Bill Ryan, Tricia Tetreau, Chip Millick

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m.

 

Registration Update – 133 registrations.  There are 40 players that we have not even heard from who played last year.  Right now the Youth Varsity team is looking big currently at 21 with 3 to 4  players that are going to play who have registration outstanding.   Zareh will FUP with Mike Ridge on how we might approach the structure of the Youth Varsity team this season. 

 

HS Locker Room Update – Zareh will follow-up with Kevin

 

Golf Tournament Update – John sent out an email we currently have $ 2,700 - 3,000 in funds secured so far.

 

Scoreboard – Zareh ordered it.  It has a flip up Sponsor panel.  Cost was $ 1,765.  FEF Grant of $ 1,000. leaves us with a cost of  $ 765.62.  It has additional bells and whistles that we can look at in the future such as a remote for the clock. 

 

HS Athletic Turf Field –  All booster groups are working together and saw a presentation recently from a vendor SPRNTURF.  It will definitely be privately funded.  It will likely be a phased approach with a strong desire to have the field in by June of 07.  Field/fence first then other accessories such as a press box, concessions, rest rooms, etc. The field/fence cost is approximately $ 600-700K most of this cost is the site work.  The turf has a 10 year life.  You can plow it.   It may also offer increased use opportunities for a fee, however, many other towns are putting in turf so there will be plenty of places to choose from.  FYSA has put forth 100K for the project.  They are still looking at naming rights. 

 

Zareh will continue to stay in touch with this topic.

 

Middles School Coaching – Mike McGovern has been named as coach and Eric Lake will be the assistant

 

Equipment Update - has been ordered for youth
